Wildlife Care
At Darling Street Veterinary Hospital, we care deeply for all wildlife and proudly support the important work of local wildlife care groups in our community.
If you come across an injured animal, particularly on the road, please don’t leave it there, as this can put both the animal and people at risk. Only if it is safe to do so, gently move the animal to the side of the road and, for species with pouches, check if a female may be carrying a baby. If possible, bring the animal to a veterinary hospital for care.
If you are unable to transport the animal, or if it is not safe to move it, please contact WIRES Wildlife Rescue on 1300 094 737, or another local wildlife organisation, so trained rescuers can assist. Your careful and timely action can make a real difference in the animal’s recovery.
